Does anyone else here have a Upromise credit card?

I'm not much help - don't have a UPROMISE c/c. But, I would say to stick with the card b/c you are going to be hard pressed to find credit anywhere now a days. Stick with what you have - even if it offers no rewards. When the economy perks up in a year or two - check around for a card that might offer rewards again. This news doesn't surprise me unfortunately.

Erin,

Are they indicating if the new card holder is going to run credit checks or are they just taking them from Citi?

Not sure Peg, I need to examine the letter more closely tonight.

I keep a mastercard that I get points on which I redeem at the grocery store. I am all for having a card that *doesn't* have an annual fee and that also gives you points. The points have to have some meaning to you though (as in relevant to your life; an airmiles card wasn't relevant to me so I quit using it). I agree with not switching accounts if it is going to involve another credit check, and I wouldn't give up the card unless you have another account already opened, so you aren't stuck without any credit. Hope that makes some sense.
