Just chugging along.....trying to keep moving forward, some progress, but not enough to satisfy me yet.
I have lost a lot of money out of my retirement fund.

(((HUGS))) As long as you're not on the brink of retirement (within about 10 years), try not to worry about the hit your retirement fund is taking. I haven't even looked to see what ours are doing because we have at least 25 years, maybe closer to 30 before we retire so it should have plenty of time to recover. We're just continuing with our dollar cost averaging and buying when it's "on sale".
I still haven't gotten a good idea of how it will affect the average consumer. Apparently it's harder to get loans, which means there's less spending overall, which means people are losing jobs because companies aren't doing enough business, which (the way I see it) will lead to less spending and more lost jobs. It doesn't sound good. We were planning on putting our house on the market, but right now I can't imagine being able to sell it. The house across the street is coming up on a year on the market and things weren't as bad when they listed.
I don't know what will happen, but this has been a serious wake up call and it's a good reminder how dangerous debt can be.
