Others on this board will encourage you to post all of your monthly bills and your income, and then give you all kinds of great advice about what and how you can cut, or whether swift and drastic action is required. I have learned a lot from this board.
One poster recently was able to cut her car payment by $150+ by extending the period of the loan; you might start there. You might also consider trading in the car for something that gets great miles per gallon, if yours does not. $18K is a lot to owe while you are unable to make your other personal payments, and lower gasoline costs, if applicable, will help you in the months to come. If your car is worth significantly more than $18K, you might even be able to sell it and buy a reasonable used car.
Christmas is coming, and so is the shopping season. Perhaps you could pick up a temporary job.
I have felt sick to my stomach many evenings because of money problems and have felt very alone in this, as a divorced woman. I am sorry you are going through this. I am now remarried and paying my debts at a good clip, but I do remember the feeling VIVIDLY. Good luck.
Hey Krys
Welcome to the board.
Debt sucks no matter how you look at it. Paying off debt is a mind set like going on a diet.
Hi K,

I've been there.
