My bargains of the day

I read the flyers this morning and Shoppers Drug Mart had tampons, toilet paper and facial tissue on really great sale, so I went. They always have a little section of perfumes that are on sale for $19.99 a bottle too. It's where I bought my one bottle of perfume close to a year ago and I thought another bottle would be nice.
I grabbed my tampons and tissue at one end of the store and didn't pick up toilet paper. Then I found myself with three bottles of $19.99 perfume in my hand. One of which I know I like and one that was reasonably okay, and one that they didn't have a tester for that is normally very expensive. So I asked the (excellent, for once) sales woman if I smelled the perfume somewhere else and didn't like it, could I bring it back (unopened and with the receipt). She said sure, no problem, so I bought the one I hadn't smelled.
Then she said that they had a deal on this week where if you spend $50 before tax and coupons you get a $10 gift certificate for your *next* purchase. I was at $47 something so I ran back across the store and got the tp. Carted my stuff to my car and thought why would I wait to use that $10 gift certificate on another visit where I will buy something I don't want or need and likely spend way more than $10 on a return visit. So I ran back in and got 4 boxes of tampons at 2 for $5. I used the gc and those four boxes cost me 50 cents.
Then I went elsewhere and the perfume I bought without smelling was $60. I smelled it and hated it, so I went right back and exchanged the bottle I'd just bought. I figured I would just exchange it for the other same priced bottle. After a big production of them refunding me for the one I returned, the one I wanted in exchange was only $9.99. Nobody said **anything** about that $10 gc that I got with the original $50 purchase, so I signed for my $10 bottle of perfume and sailed out the door. So I got that $10 gc for spending just over $40, though I honestly wasn't trying to scam them. I was figuring on doing a same-value exchange.
I just did the math on it all and 6 boxes of tampons, a package of pads, a big package of toilet paper and a box of facial tissue cost me $12.39 including the tax. Yes the perfume was expensive but I will enjoy it for a long time to come and I won't have to spend money on paper products for quite some time. I know there is probably a better forum but I am quite pleased with myself and felt like sharing. Anyone else find a great deal they'd like to share?

I went to CVS the other day to get some cough syrup for DH.
I've been using my CVS customer card to purchase makeup items instead of buying from the dermatologist or Estee Lauder.

I really did my homework this week on groceries. I looked for coupons, checked the sale fliers, went online and planned my meals according to what I had on hand. I bought 183 dollars of groceries for 144. Plus I have 7 dollars worth of rebates coming my way from some of the items I bought. That's almost 50 dollars that I saved! Yay! And if you think that's a lot of money on groceries, I have 3 kids and I actually planned out 7 dinners, 7 breakfasts and 7 lunches so we would NOT go out to eat this week! If we run out of food midway through the week, we
We don't have a CVS around here but I SCORED at Walgreen's yesterday.
