last night on his way home from the arena (DH ref's to make extra money) he hit a deer...the car has sustained so much damage that it is junk now. We need two cars because we work in different towns in opposite directions, and we both work odd hours. Carpooling is not an option.
I am so frustrated b/c we only had PLPD on th car for insurance so no help there.
DH's passenger was my sister who works for me...well I am off on maternity leave waiting for this baby (which was due yesterday). She is complaining today that she is too injured to work the next few weeks...we are dog groomers and in an area where there is NO one to hire (we have tried for over 2 years).
I am frustrated cause cancelling her appts would be suicide to my business. I pay rent at a commerical shop, I worked all summer to save money to go on mat leave (bascially enough money to pay shop rent, phone, etc) and she was working there while I was gone for a max of 5 weeks...
So now it looks like I will be working straight through, praying very hard I do not end up with a c-section....
The money we saved will have to go to buying a new car, (well old but new to us), and I need to earn enough money to make up the difference...
I am so frustrated everytime it feels like we can see the light we slip further and futher behind...

Within days you will have a new life in your hands. Can't ask for anything more "good" than that.
Hang in there. Glad hubby and sister are ok from the accident.
Wow, when bad things happen they seem to all come at once, don't they?
The computer ate my first attempt at a reply so I will try again.
You are in the Maritimes, right? I was going to ask you if you have checked out the Revenue Canada website and made sure you have applied for all the possible baby and family bonuses. I don't know what all is available, but it is sure a lot more than what my mum got for me in the 1980s.
What about provincial family/baby programs. In BC there is a healthy babies program where moms get vouchers to use at grocery stores for produce and dairy (that tend to be expensive)...these get given out through community support agencies.
Have you checked with your provincial department of motor vehicles to make sure there is no way you get any coverage for your car?
Is there an employment centre that might be able to help you with temporary staff? What about a community college?
For help with the baby and family stuff is there a Welcome Wagon? They might have a baby welcoming package. Do you have a Salvation Army? Community food bank? I know the last two might feel like last resorts or depressing, I am just trying to think of some options for help that you could look into in your area.
Good luck, let us know how you do!
