Honestly, it sounds like they may have been robbed. I think if I were them I'd start w/ calling the police and my mortgage company~if you are getting foreclosed on they send letters and it takes awhile, KWIM? If they other neighbors were evicted and they mistakeningly went into this home, these people were essentially robbed. IMO IS

they were told, not sure by whom though, that there were 5 county cops there & a bunch of ppl removing everything. The cops just stood by and monitored it all. Locks were not changed as far as I know. No notices were left-nothing. My neighbors were not at home when all this happened. I spoke with my mom about it, she works for an apartment complex, so they deal with evictions often. She said that there have to be at least 2 notices before anything happens. One at least a month in advance & then a 24 hour notice. I told them they needed to go to the county and get a copy of the eviction notice and see whose name was on it & the address, then who ordered it. I thought that it may have been a set up, but they took their dogs to the pound...would a robber do that? I mean, these were huge pit bulls too...it all just blows my mind!

I agree! I spoke with my neighbor a few minutes ago. She said she had gotten her dogs from the pound and it was called in by a county deputy as an eviction...so I doubt it was a robbery case for sure now. Her & her husband are trying to make arrangements for a place to stay...She still isn't sure what happened...I will update as I get more info.

WOW........that's all I can say. I guess it really was a case of mistaken identity, unless your neighbors were really thrown out and are so humiliated and ashamed they just don't want to tell anyone about it. But, it doesn't really sound like that to me. Have they contacted the police to see where the order of eviction came from? I can't imagine the police making a address error but who knows? Yikes. It's such a shame thay they have to sort this all out. Please keep us posted. This is so odd and terrible. I really hope they are able to get their lives back soon. I'd be moving back in if they didn't change the locks. I wonder if their mortgage company hasn't been crediting their account or something odd or if it was a mortgage co. computer error....how bizarre. I'm inclined to think it was a clerical error in court or something. I'm pretty sure you need to get a court order to evict someone (it could be the right house number but wrong street or something). Have they talked to their mortgage co. to make sure everything is on the up and up w/ their account? Sheesh.

They've been trying to get everything sorted out this morning. I'm not there, so I can't put a fire under them ya know? If it were me, it would have all been sorted out by 10am this morning..lol...but that's just me. I know she spoke with
