Holiday cards

Question as to what everyone is planning this year for Holiday cards? I for one don't care how tight my budget is - I always make room for Holiday cards. I get a picture card of my kids taken and you can get 100 cards plus envelopes for $20 at Sam's Club.

This year my mom is doing something cute - she took a pic of her and my stepdad with all their grandkids and is sending that out for Holiday cards this year. I thought that idea was adorable!

I make labels at work so I don't have to write out everyones addresses by hand and I send them out the first week of December so that everyone has time to keep them up all month. (me being vain and thinking that people keep the cards up all month.......)

Just wondering if anyone has been thinking about this early like me.

I think that most people like the photo holiday cards rather than just a Christmas card. I hate it when I open a Christmas card and it's just signed, no message, no photo... what a waste of postage! On the other hand, when I get a photo card, I leave it up for months and keep it forever! This year the people on my list are getting a photo card with my new "boyfriend" -- my miniature poodle -- on it. (I broke off with my old boyfriend -- the poodle is less stressful!)

Congrats on the "new guy."

We just got a Yorkie Poo. I was going to have him in the photo too but lets face it - if I can get a 5 year old and a 1 year old to smile together in a photo what are the chances I'm going to get a puppy to sit in there too without licking one kids hand or trying to jump on the head of the other kid. Not gonna happen! LOL.

Last Saturday I made a trip to the consignment store and found out there was one last thing sold and I got $2.60 for it, and a bag of stuff back that they didn't sell and didn't want any more. I took it right over to my favourite thrift store and donated it all. They will sell it.

While there I found they had a big table with packages of holiday cards. The first pack I saw had a beautiful card and I spent $1.50 of my consignment store money on the cards because I liked the picture of the one card in the pack that I could see. Turns out I got 10 beautiful cards with envelopes for $1.50. All new and in excellent condition. Most are Canadian Wildlife Federation or Heart and stroke and amazingly enough all 10 are really nice cards. I am going to go back this Saturday and see if they have anything else I like. I also got a beautiful cashmere sweater (real 100% high quality cashmere) there in the summer for one dollar, so I'm not just going for cards. But I have stamps and I am thinking about who to send cards out to. Good question.

I generally send a holiday picture card and a holiday letter.

We've been thinking about it, but haven't made a final decision as of yet.

I quit sending cards out a long time ago.
