We don't have Target here in
Travi
One of the ways that I curbed my spending (at Target specifically, but this also applies to other shopping as well) - I got *mad* at the retailer.
I once saw an episode of Dr. Phil, years ago.
All my best,
Danni
Thanks for sharing that, Danni.
"Although, if it is as tempting as it sounds, why don't you avoid the place entirely. Would it not be better to pay a little more for diapers somewhere else and avoid the temptation of all the other things you see at Target?"
Travi said exactly what I was thinking.
Yes, the shopping trips to Target & Walmart kill me. Something that has helped is buying a gift card and use that for shopping. I can't go over the amount on the card so I count as I am shopping. I have started doing this at the grocery store also.
For the grocery store I buy script from the local private school. There is no discount on the cards, but the school gets a % back from the organization. IMO I would rather it in the schools pocket than nowhere. (OK in MINE would be best but)

Travi,
I'm so glad to hear that you are in a right place now.
Keep it girl. You've come a long way.
Besides the shopping gripes, I defaulted on a bunch of credit cards, and Target was the most aggressive and mean. They hired this collection agency called Slamowitz who took me to court and froze my bank accounts. My story is at:

Maybe not everyone that defaults gets the same treatment, but these people are bad news. Plus their return policy is a little strict too.
