Hey Everyone..
I've been lurking here for a bit, and I've learned a lot of great things.
I have twins myself, and if he's anything like my husband, all of those grand ideas will fly out the window the minute those babies come! LOL That first year with twins was a killer for us - emotionally, financially, physically, etc, maybe worse for us because we already had a singleton and thought we knew what we were doing. HA! There's no time for wants, only needs, and even then it's hard to get some basic needs met - like sleeping. ;) Ultimately, it probably worked out in our advantage, because once we got through that first year we both saw what was really important and what was just fluff, and DH was totally on board with me.
Hopefully, after the babies are born he'll get some clarity that he can't do everything just because he WANTS to. He now will have two more people in your household whose needs have to be met first. But maybe making plans for what he wants to get done is his way of dealing with the uncertainty of the other major thing that's going to happen in the next year. ;)
I really hope that's all it is, but I know it's gotta be so frustrating.
Twins...how exciting...congratulations!!!
This probably is a stupid question, but have you asked him how he thinks that stuff is going to be paid for?
Welcome to the I want to kill my husband club.
Oh by the way don't replace the walls in the room just put some new paint on the wall and everything will be fine. My son who is almost 6 feet tall and is a senior engineer in a firm lived with two smokers until he was 27. He was as healthy as a horse then he got into the no smoking thing when he left home and now he is sick all the time because he moved from Kentucky to Florida. So your baby will be well until he or she leaves home.
Congrats on the twins and I am sorry you have joined the club that Mary Ann mentioned.
I agree w/me and my pea,
I have twins (boy and girl). Once they are born, he would come to his senses.
Congrats. on the twins. I hope you are getting as much rest as possible. Once the twins arrive, rest is out the window. LOL!!!!

if you are going to replace the carpet do it soon. There are often smells that go along with new carpeting. I have read things that said it was not good to breathe in, but you never really know. It was January and we kept the window open in baby's room until it was gone. Of course the smell made me want to gag at 8m pregnant.
Congrats! Almost 20 years of marriage and some days I just wonder what planet he is on lol.
