I can totally relate! Eating out is our biggest money waster. We're doing better, but it's hard to change.

Next time you get the urge to eat out, go to the grocery store and shop for something you can make for dinner instead.

Not only is it bad for your financial situation, it's not healthy for you or your kids.

The key is planning and shopping in advance. If you need help, sign up for a planner like savingdinner.com that tells you exactly what to buy, gives you the menu for the week, all the recipes, and practically cooks dinner for you.

Sunny,

I hear you, I took my lunch two days this week and ate out 3 days, I have been trying to take my lunch everyday and stop eating out but for some reason I cannot.

My hubby and I only eat out once a week, although this week because of the election we ate out twice this week.

I need to stop spending money on eating out and save because of the economy ( I work in the automotive industry) I could easily lose my job tomorrow.

I am in the same boat, as a family we ate out 2x last week for $41.00. Its amazing how much money is wasted on fast food. It is such bad food to feed your kids and I found we all feel yucky afterwards. I love Stacy's post on making it yourself by going to the store. I think I will start that with our family. I already made my meal plan for this week and have all the ingredients. Hope to stick to it!

Have a great week everyone!

Seems like a lot of us are struggling on this point. I am too so I was trying to think this weekend if there was some way to do a challenge among us. It would be fun to win something but I don't know how that would work. I was thinking even something inexpensive and fun like we all send a card to the one who 'wins' but I don't know if people want to share their snail mail addresses. Guess we could do ecards. Does this appeal to anyone else?

I for one would love to do a challenge, some way to help keep me motivated and on track. Ecards would be fine. Hope others are interested!
