Ok. So here it goes, sorry soo long. We have been in debt before, but never this bad. We are about 100,000 in cc debt and a huge mortgage. My husband makes a good salary. About 160,000. I am dying to go to work, but with three kids the daycare just wouldn't pay. I am on the hunt

Have you looked backwards at your spending over the last few months to figure out where the money was going?

Hi there,

I am mostly a lurker nowadays, but I've been around the board for a while now. I came here in crisis mode myself. I have two kids, my youngest is a preschooler and I didn't want to pay daycare for him in order to bring home a paycheck. I started baby-sitting two siblings in my home, then moved on to get my home daycare license. I am now bringing in decent money to keep our cash flow moving--no more charging. I am able to be home with my kids and I don't have to pay daycare costs. It's working for us! Would you be able to take in even one or two children to baby-sit?

Good luck!

Hi I have been thinking about taking on a kid to babysit. I have already posted an ad on craigslist, but it seems everyone there is looking for a babysitting gig. So we'll see. I'm just afraid that I am not going to have enough patience for my own after watching another one all day, especially since I have a 2 1/2 year old.

If you look after a child about the same age, you may find you have more patience, as your child would have a buddy to play with and wouldn't need quite as much attention. When I am watching my nieces, I find it less exhausting if I have 2-3 over instead of just 1.

Thats true. Hopefully I can find someone around my son's age so he can have a playmate.
