As I've said before, I'm a magazine freak. Due to the current climate, I've decided not to renew my subscriptions until things are steadier and less iffy with my employment. I had already decided to drop 3 of the 7 I have. The only one that I may choose not to live without is my fitness magazine. We will see as the renewal notices start to come in. But, I figure it can be a temporary relief. I can also ask for Christmas if there are any renewals that come in soon.
*sigh*

Me and DH are magazine lovers. We at one time decided to cut out magazines but then if money was good here or there we'd buy ourselves one or two. We came to realize that subscribing was cheaper then picking them up at the newstands randomly. So we picked a few favorites and renewed those.
Just bear that in mind.
Also, as you said magazines subscriptions are a great gift!
Thx, ladies. Right now, I'm just not renewing anything unless it's my Fitness magazine and if anyone asks me for gift ideas, I might tell them they can renew my sub.

This is good advice. If you buy 3 issues a year, you're often better off getting a subscription. Better to cut back to just the ones you really read every issue of than canceling everything.
I subscribe to two home magazines and I figure the cost is well worth it, because looking at all the photos and advice helps me figure out what to do with my home, and what is really important to me, and it saves a lot of effort and expense. Similarly, subscribing to a fashion magazine gives me a chance to check out trends and products without wasting time buying them, and I can make better, faster, cheaper buying decisions as a result. And I'd never cut back Consumer Reports, because we more than save the cost every year by making better buying decisions.

Do you know how to read the address label to see when your subscription actually expires?
