I just received a lovely letter from Citibank that they are going to more than double my interest rate on my card, from 6.99% all the way up to 14.99%.

That sucks. I had my own negative experience with one of my cards yesterday. I tried to lower the rate (which I have done sucessfully twice) they said that they cannot do that at this time. So I decided to try for another card and transfer some of that card. Which I really didn't want to do but I am paying over a $100 a month on interest so I decided to just do it.

I hope you can figure something out. Good luck!

Maybe both you guys should try to get out of Citibank.

Check out Kroger 1-2-3 credit card You will get about 7,000 but they are offering 2.9 on the lift of the loan with 3% fee and 0% until August Maybe you guys can get that card. First National of Omaha is pretty good on limits they are about 8,000 and 3.9 to start

Worth a try

Citibank did that to me earlier this year. From 7 or 8% to 17.99%. I really hope it doesn't get bumped up again.

I got a letter from them this week saying that if I'm late on a payment, the rate goes up to 23.99%. I'm excellent about paying bills on time, so hopefully this is the worst it'll get.

Mary Ann,

I dont actually have a Citibank Credit card which I am glad of, after hearing about pp's luck. I have gotten offers from them in the past but the interest rate wasnt great and I just never was wowed by them. When DH and I were mortgage shopping we had gotten pre-approved by them but when I called back to speak to them about it I was transfered to many different people and when I did get to the right person he thought I was 3 different people before he realized who I was...after this weekends news boy am I glad that I did not go with them...

The credit card that I did get approved for was one with a company that I already have and have had great luck and am very pleased with my expirence with them.
