So, I'm on vacation this week and I took my car this morning for an oil change and to have an indicator light replaced as well as a headlight bulb. Not only is the coolant sensor in need of replacement but the serpentine belt needed to be replaced, too. I did take it to a reputable, local repair shop. My dad goes to church with the owner. ANyway, I'm out $500.
Goodbye, Christmas bonus. I am trying to intermittently breathe through a brown paper bag.
I seriously need to find a job where I can work from home or something. The good news is that the job I applied for is starting the interview process next week so I have hope there.

It could have been worse!!
Hi Prada,
I know its hard when life drop kicks you when you're down, but at least you had the Christmas bonus to cover it . . . I am working on rebuilding my efund after raiding it for some home repairs.
You have come such a long way . . . I know you can do this . . . just take it one day and one dollar at a time!

Thx, ladies, for your input. I've had a serpentine belt die twice when I was driving about 4 yrs ago so I'm v. thankful it didn't break on me this time while driving. I don't have my bonus just yet, but I'm hopeful I get one (more than likely will) and that I know it's all going towards paying off debt anyway. Unfortunately, car repairs seem to come in big chunks. Once this debt is gone or at least down, I will start factoring into my budget any expected car issues for next year.
