I have been thinking twice or even three times before making impulse purchases. It has helped me to realize that I really don't need the latest little gadget or that cute little knick nack. Plus if I search far enough back in my closets and other storage areas I'm sure there are items that I have forgotten about or own 2-3 of because I couldn't find the first ones when I needed them.

This economic downturn hasn't changed my spending habits because I've been trying to be frugal for the last year. BUT it has made me a little more nervous about the future and so I'm really trying to get caught up on my mortgage and pay off credit cards faster than I would have. Also...even though I know my husbands job is pretty secure, I worry. And our Christmas this year is going to be very grim!

I voted "No" because we had tightened our belts before any of this ever happened.

I voted "no". I have been a good girl money-wise these last few months any way so the economy has had really no effect.

There were some major purchases (furniture for two rooms and residing the house) that I was going to make in the first quarter of 2009 from the excess of my quarterly bonus. Now I'm quite sure there won't be an excess, so we will be postponing those purchases until there is one. Also, I'll be making sure that we stay within the monthly budget. We always go over, which doesn't put us into debt but it sure doesn't help with savings either.
