Health Check-ups vs. Budget

I was wondering how many of women on this site have postponed a check up, i.e., pap test, mammogram, dental check up, because of the lack of insurance or having to come up with the co-payment.

All my best,
Danni

With medical doctors I am very lucky to be in Canada where it is not a question of cost but more of finding time to go when I work the same hours that medical clinics are open. That and finding one that will accept patients.
Nothing else is covered, so eye care and dental care is out of pocket until I have insurance, and I have gone without before, but not for awhile. I make sure it happens.
I am mostly a lurker, but sometimes I post.
My health is #1, so I do not skimp on that.
I just want to thank you for reminding me about the health checkups....I feel ashamed to say that right now we have excellent insurance and I do not go to the dentist/doctor like I'm supposed to because they cause me anxiety. I just got all the numbers for my doctors together and I plan on trying to make appts. today!
You are right....if something were to happen to me and my lack of healthcare responsibility was a cause of it that would be horrible. My family depends on me. I am going to force myself to go.
Thanks again!!
I've juggled around with dates and pay periods; but, would never go without. You're right, we are the backbone of this society. Too many people count on me for me to not take care of myself.
