I am not trying to start anything but I just have a question and hoping that I am not the only one that feels this way

I've felt that way too sometimes.
Personally I don't.
They may think it is the easy way out, but 7-10 years of horrible credit doesn't seem like a good trade off. And they will probably get right back into debt because they haven't learned their lesson yet. My parents declared bankruptcy and it was awful. We lost our home and our car (I was 17). They ended up trying to fix their credit by getting a car loan with horrible interest on a junker car! My mom just recently bought a house after 10 years of horrible credit. I know I wouldn't want to declare bankruptcy. It does sometimes seem like the easy way out...but that's only temporary. I think in the long run, it is the harder thing to deal with.

*claps* AMEN!
"It annoys me when people assume that everyone who files for bankruptcy has been living the high life and then decides they don't want to pay for playing." Add to that people who think families should be stripped of everything.
What Carolyn and I are trying to show you is that not everyone who files for bankruptcy does it because they wanted to drive high end cars or live in homes they can't afford. Most people who file do it because they see no other option and they've done EVERYTHING in their power to try and fix it without having to resort to bankruptcy. I can assure you that for most people bankruptcy isn't something they turn to quickly, easily or without shame and embarrassment.
