Thanks for being here...someone I can let my problems out to without judging me. Sometimes I feel like I can't talk to anyone. I sent an email to some friends...a venting email about my holiday stress. I didn't mention much about money, but my main reason for writing it was because I've been having some super hard times with money lately. All I got back was silence...and then a friend called me and asked me why I was ranting and raving during the holidays...that I needed to destress and get happier. They just don't understand my problems and they never will and honestly, they don't want my problems ruining their holiday happiness so they'd rather avoid me probably. So I'm really thankful that I have

Believe me, I know exactly what your saying.

When I was at the worst of my debt, one of the boards (dont remember if it was this one of the obsoleted bankruptcy Q & A board), had a section like the check-ins that was basically for individual diaries.

Oh where do I sign up for the sleeping better?
You are absolutely right Abbie. It is great to have some place to vent and ask questions. I don't always want to bother my bf with my fearful obsessions. And Hey, if people were not stressed at Christmas time for a multitude of reasons, they are not human.
I was at the dollar store today and I got to thinking how you wanted something cheap for your kids and the recital They had little red Christmas stocking for a 1.00 Maybe get the stocking and award them to the kids full of hard candy Would not cost you more then a couple of dollars a kids I would think

That's actually a really good idea, but due to the huge ice storm we had up in the Northeast yesterday, I had to cancel the recital! The church has no power...so that knocks one stressor off my list for the holidays. I'm actually really glad!
Abbie
I think sometimes complaining to friends becomes a problem because the other person may be assuming you somehow want them to fix it! We both know that is not the case, but then if they don't think of ways to "help" they just say nothing!!
The others on this board are in the same boat and so we clearly know we are not asking the others to "fix it!!"
I don't know if it would help if when you email someone or talk to them and need to vent just preface it by saying "I am not asking for help or solutions or anything like that. I just really need someone to listen to me!"
