Um, there is such a thing, but they generally have ridiculous transaction fees.

They are generally available here at the grocery stores in the gift card kiosk but I agree that the transaction fees are pretty stiff.

You can buy a Visa gift card which can be used anywhere that credit cards are accepted. You have to pay like $4.95 as a service fee when you purchase it.

Walmart sells them. I have one. You can load it for $4.95 per load.

Why don't you make her a "homemade" gift card for the amount you want to give....then she can shop and send you the reciept.....and then you send her a check to reimburse her for the amount she spent?
