I think I may have just answered my own question on the post I just posted! I asked what an efund was...is that short for Emergency Fund?

Anyway - tonight disaster struck again. I was putting up the Christmas tree and my little one (he's 14 months) grabbed a glass ornament and managed to EAT a piece of it!!!!! I had to go to the ER...this is my third trip to the ER in 6 months! OMG! I just sent off a 75 dollar copay to the hospital yesterday for Gods sake! And now I have another 75 dollar copay to look forward to! These are things I don't budget for! And yes, after an X-ray, we found a small piece of glass in his stomach. I have to wait for it to come out and watch for bad symptoms like blood or vomiting. Our other two visits were when he fell out of his crib and got a black eye! And when he ate some Extra Strength

I answered your other post, lol. I am glad your son is okay. An emergency fund would have definitely been helpful; I am in the same situation. By the way, thanks for the info about orajel. I have a toddler and actually have a tube of orajel sitting

Read below about the Orajel. It's just scary that we have no way of knowing this. And such a small dose is toxic! I highlighted the ones that most everyone has in their house in blue. This information is shocking really. One teaspoon is enough!
Toxic Medicine

It is the nature of younger children, especially toddlers, to put anything and everything into their mouths.

Give him bread to surround the glass as it passes through. I have $100 a month I budget for "emergencies." Emergencies are vet bills, medical copays (I only have copays for medications because I live in a state that has state coverage insurance), car problems, oil changes, etc. If we don't use the emergency money, we spend it on extra groceries or going out to eat or a movie or something. We should let it accumulate for a really big emergency but we usually don't. You have to have fun in life too, I believe. We do have about $1,000 in savings but that is sure not a lot. Just spent $300 on car repair... ugh.
