Sorry to hear that you will be late on mortgage. I know how much that sucks.

However, the bright side is that you will be able to pay it within the month.

Hang in there.

For the last week Best Buy stock has been going up just a little but some. Maybe .40 or .50 cents a day

Sorry for you Becky really I am

Do you have any credit cards you can borrow from. If you did that would be so much better but you already know that. So I guess that was a silly question.

Sending hugs your way.

I wish you were here I would hire you to get the Christmas stuff out and put it up for me.

Becky - I feel your pain. We just had to do this very thing. Only we were late by 2 months. We got behind on our mortgage and at first we were able to pay it by the grace period, then something would happen and it would be a week late, then 2 weeks. Over the past year I have been trying my hardest to pay them by the end of the month and they kept on allowing me to push the late fees to the next payment over and over again. Then it got to the point where we were having to pay 2 mortgages every 2 months because I couldn't get the one payment together in 1 month. Finaly I had 300 dollars in late fees and we got 2 months behind and I knew we weren't going to be able to pay the whole thing. So I pulled out DH's 401k. It was a recent 401K and there was only 3000 dollars in it, but I had no other choice. Better to keep your house then rely on a retirement account that you won't need for awhile. I will have to double time the retirement once our money situation calms down. It's so hard...we were 8 days away from being foreclosed one. I actually got the paper yesterday from the bank saying they were going to start foreclosure proceedings. They sent it out right before we payed. Good luck!

Hey Becky, I'm sorry, how horribly stressful at this time of year.

I don't work outside the home but we really do need more income.

At this point it is one of those catch-22 situations -- I just really can't get a job at the moment.

Becky,
I am almost certain you can get a cash advance on that card at any bank w/o the convenience checks. I don't believe there is any higher fees on doing it that way vs. writing the check. You might call and see what your options are and what they would cost. Any cost would probably be lower than the cost of pulling the 401k.

Sorry to hear you are running out of rope. I know your taxes always help so hopefully you'll get back on your feet early in the year.

(((Hugs))) ... I'm so sorry, hon. I think most folks won't report you late until you have two payments due, though, if that's a bright side to you at all.
