Well...it's been a month since I have been working part-time (weekends). I got my first paycheck two weeks ago. My check was short 25cents per hour. I am owed an additional 6 hours. Spoke to the person in charge. It has been vertified. Therefore, next pay I should get my additional 6 hours in the correct pay rate. and the hours I was paid 25 cent per hour less with be in that paycheck. What a mess!!!

I went to the bank and opened up a savings account with no debt card. I deposited my first paycheck. This is toward the live saving operation our Yorkie needs. She is currently on meds until she can get her operation. That cost $85. Friday I have to pick up more. It's been a month that she has been on it. She is also on a low protein diet. The bag of dry food cost $28 for 10 lbs. I will be buying another bag on friday as well. :( Ching, Ching!!!!!

Christmas shopping has been very tough. I am not sending out christmas cards, didn't buy a wreath for the front door as always and didn't take the kids to see santa and have pictures taken (those are the ones we use for our christmas cards). We just can't afford it.

It's been two months since I've paid our credit cards. I am just done with it. We can't afford to pay them and our credit is still bad. We have been on a reduce payment plan with all of them.

Have a great week.

P.S. Bright side....we are alive and healthy and we have a roof over our heads.

No one says you have to send out the Christmas cards with the kids pics on them. Include a little note on the inside cover to make it personal if that makes you feel better. Just a little sentence no big deal. I bought a pack of cards after the season last year for .44Cents. This might help for next year?

Good for you opening up a savings account! Is there a feed mill around your house? Sometimes those places have cheaper prices on specialty animal foods? I hope your dog is better soon!

I know I could just send boxed cards. I figure I save money on stamps too. I'm trying to cut back as much as I can. Do you think it was a bad idea to cut back on sending Christmas cards?

We did buy our annual tree. I have last year's decorations. The house is decorated festive. Kids love it.

As for the feed mill, I haven't send one around here.

Thanks

I don't think it was a bad idea to cut back on Christmas cards. While they are nice, it's really just one way to connect with people. There are other ways which while less traditional can still work. Can you email people a holiday note? (Merry Christmas, attached is a photo of the kids, see how they've grown?)

Spending the money on cards and stamps can feel a bit stressful when you're trying to make ends meet.

Thanks motorcyclemouse,

In fact...we have a family website. My husband is an IT guy. He set this up when the kids were born.

Your idea sounds good. I think I'll do that instead.

Thanks again.

(((Hugs))) I've been there and I understand. At one time we just stopped paying anything "they" couldn't cut off or take away. It was tough, but we came back from it. That little bit of a breather gave us what we needed.

You seem to know exactly what you need to do. Now you just need to do it (or not do it) without feeling guilty! =c)

Thanks...

You are so right. I had to stop paying the credit cards. Now our account is not in the red.

We are on a cash basis. Boy...that is so hard.
