I haven't been on here in a while but we're digging ourselves in a bigger hole with credit card debt.
My husband works in the automotive industry and he is party salary & commission and his checks have but cut in half and we had to

Hugs to you.
Here is my question - although filing for bankrupsy or consolidating bills will lower your payments if you can't afford the basic essentials you will be right back where you started before you know it. AND after filing bankrupsy (I never have but this is what I have heard/read) its harder to get a credit card with a good interest rate so if you DO fall back into the habit of needing to charge bills then you will be in worse shape.
I hope you don't think I'm being discouraging - just trying to help you not go back into debt. Is there any long term hopes for your DH's job? Would it be possible for you to see about any other secondary income? Meaning a night job or side jobs that can bring in any extra money? Perhaps if you listed some expenses people can do their best (the ladies here rock at this) to help you cut bills out. Or see where you are overspending that can be cut out.
It's hard and its a bad pattern you are in. But you recognize that and that's the first step. I hope others with better advice can step in here.
I have put in apps and so had DH.

I understand. PLEASE don't think I'm judging. Just wanting to make sure you will be ok after (if) you decide to file for BK.
Hugs to you and Merry Holidays.
No, I don't think that and that is another thing to consider.
I have a lot to think about over the weekend and I know that once we file we're pretty much on our own.
No more leaning on credit cards to bail us out that's why giving up one of the cars is laying heavy on my heart.
If we did give one up that would clear up $500 but then the bank would repo it and we'll still have to pay some the majority of the loan back.
