On Christmas Eve, as DD, DS, DH and I all watched a movie, I started to panic. Did my simple Christmas go over-board? Were the kids going to be happy in the morning? I told myself that I ordered what they wanted. They knew the limit this year and DD researched her gifts very well. DS took his time and I wasn't sure what he had come up with (I mean, were they well thought-out) but I ordered what he wanted.

Well, yesterday was great. DD said it was the best ever. DS will need to return a couple things because they didn't fit correctly, but that's no big deal. They both have some cash to spend, which they enjoy. It makes Christmas last longer as they get more for their money at sales.

Dinner was fantastic: salmon, horseradish scalloped potatoes, and a rutabaga/carrot dish. Excellent food and easy to prepare. It was quite a treat! Later, we had a warm mixture of butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, pecans, and bananas with rum over vanilla frozen yogurt. You light the mixture until the alcohol burns off. Heavenly! All the recipes were from Real Simple. That was lots of fun.

We will head out to some of the sales. We're in search of winter coats for DD and DS (they have to choose them) and a new TV.

All in all, much better than expected. Everyone enjoyed the laid-back simplicity and there was no need for me to get so worried.
