Wow, that was beautifully written! I'm so sorry about the bed bugs, I cannot even imagine:(
But you are right about the BEF. It seems so frustrating not to just put it on the debt, but it is really important. The stress due to a crisis can be a lot less when I know I at least have the money to begin working back to good....
What an incredible story. I'm so sorry for all that you're going through. I can feel your frustration.
Your post is the most eloquent story I've read as to why to build up an efund. You might consider posting it on a site that pays when people read it. (Ad Content or something like that). Your writing is far better than most of what they publish.
I hear you about the efund! I am following Dave Ramsey, too. I opened an ING Direct (Internet) savings account for the baby step 1 efund, built it up to $1,000, and then forgot about it while I've worked on baby step 2. When I got a tuition bill from my daughter's college for $490 more than I had expected earlier this month, I panicked. I thought I'd have to charge it to my Visa. An entire day went by before I remembered the efund. I'm so thankful it was there! Now I've stopped baby step 2 until the efund is built back up to $1,000.
I've never had anything published or written much of anything, but I still consider myself a writer. I know that when I 'try' to write, things come out and I always get great feedback from other people. I think I was most impressed by the fact that you wrote this post...a simple post on a board and it was great. You
