New Year's Goals/ Resolutions

I haven't really posted on here since my intro, but I feel very good about what the new year has in store (because I know that it is up to me to control what happens, and now I am sure I can).

I don't usually make New Year's resolutions, but I thought this year I would make some goals.

My goals are all in my tickers! The only one not specifically mentioned is to raise the credit scores, but by the time we reduce our debt by 15k+ and haven't had a late payment for 12 months, I'd say we're well on our way to that! No CC debt here, so it's just a matter of paying this other stuff off. I think we're definitely on a SMART path!

I am wishy-washy about my goals at the moment.

Dh and I became debt free (aside from the mortgage) in 2008.

Our goals this year are to:

1. Finish fully funding our emergency fund. We should have the needed $12K by the end of February.

2. Begin to aggressively fund our retirement. We have a lot of catching up to do.

3. Begin to aggressively pay down the mortgage.

We got a bit loose with our funds after we paid off our debt (I guess that's quite common), so this year we're putting our noses back to the grindstone. I want to retire by the time I'm 55 (or at least cut back substantially), dh wants to go into business for himself in the next 5 years, so the next 5-8 years are going require a LOT of hard work. I'm ready!

We blew my goal of paying down 15k in debt out of the water! Obviously a lot of it is a work in progress (raising credit score, for example) but I am VERY happy with our progress, even if we're currently in a "tight" (ha!) spot.

Great idea to look back at last year's goals. I hope more of you will chime in to let us know if you succeeded with any of your resolutions/goals.
