1. What percent of your debt total from the beginning of the year did you pay back, or did your debt amount grow? --
My debt grew due to needing a new roof ($8K) and a new Parent PLUS loan for my daughter's final year of college ($16K).
2. If you paid off some of your debts, which one was the most important or the most gratifying to pay off? --
I paid off a smaller Parent PLUS loan of $8K.
3. What was the most important lesson you learned about money/debt/finances in 2008? --
Don't go shopping with my daughter; stay out of craft shops; bring my lunch to work!
4. Did you have any setbacks? Did they interfere with your debt reduction efforts? How did you get past setbacks if you did? --
In 2008, I spent $3,015 on one car and $1,681 on my other car (that my daughter drives) for maintenance and repairs (mostly repairs). It makes me sick to think about it. One is a 2002 and the other is a 2000, and there's no way I can replace either one of them for years. Every time a repair was needed I had to take it out of my Efund and then replace the money. A couple of times I had to charge the repair.
5. Did you stick to a plan you created from the beginning of 2008 or did you use another method? --
I started following Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover in early 2008. (I was on baby step 2, but now I have to go back to step 1 and rebuild my Efund thanks to the latest car repair!)
6. Do you consider 2008 to be a success in any way on your debt journey? --
I think that 2008 was a draw. I feel like a moon-walked all year (you know, looking like you are walking forward but actually going backward!) I did get a lot of support from this message board, though. Thanks, everyone!

I read your posting on 2008 journey and I noticed that your ticker was not showing. You need to go back and get the second box with the html codes showing not the first box The first box of codes urls do not show on here.
