If you are not worried about your FICO score, *close anything you're willing to live without.*

According to Carmen she says if you are going to close a card close one that is fairly new because you need the credit history. I agree with that. A year or so ago my husband got scared

I hadn't really thought about the card raising my credit limit and me calling and asking them to lower it as hurting me...but that is a good way to look at it...I just thought that it would be more money that "I could spend" which I didn't want to do.

Since you have emerged from bankruptcy with resolve and an unyielding desire to make sure the chance of plunging in consumer debt doesn't occur again, then requesting the lower credit limit is appropriate.
