a worksheet on Excel to track my spending. I have a category for What I bought, how I paid whether it was cash, debit, check or online bill pay. What else can I include in this?
I also want to make one up for all of my bills to keep track of and all of the deposits into my account. I know there are more people out there more creative than I am, and I need all the help I can get. Thanks a bunch! Liz

I think you'll find as you go along more categories will pop up. I quickly realized that we ate out way too much, but who was the culprit? clearcheckbook.com has GREAT tools for tracking spending. It's online based (so if your computer crashes your info does not) and you don't actually put your account numbers in there so there are no security issues. It is FREE and they let you divide transactions into multiple categories. They give any-time instant reports on where your money has gone either by line or bar graph, pie chart, and just in the numbers. You can set up your budget and it will tell you how far over or under you are. It's super easy to use -- I switched to them from Microsoft Money and I can't see myself ever going back. It even shows data for several months at a glance (pie charts specifically). It has some of the best "real life" tools I've seen without being muddled up by investments and other items that I'm not interested in right now. Take a look around -- you might find that it would be helpful to you!
I have a spreadsheet that autocalcs my overall debt when I update my balances. If you want something like that, let me know and I can help you.
