Proposed Stimulus Package

Hey all, hope everyone is well!
There is much talk recently about the next Stimulus Package. President Elect Obama has said he would like to see something from Congress within two weeks of him being in office. Part of this stimulus package is a proposal, similar to the last stimulus in 2008, that each taxpayer receive a check. Of course the hope is to get the economy going.
So, since this is a debt support

That is a great question!
I think for our situation it would be best to put it towards the EF so we don't have to charge for basic stuff. Hopefully it would not be touched and just added to.
Taking it day by day...
Taking it day by day...
I heard that it might be a reduction in payroll taxes, but every little bit helps. $10 or $19 would definitely go to snowflakes for the debt.
I, too, have done way too much stimulating the economy already. See, I stopped adding to my debt a year ago, and look what happened to the economy! I feel so responsible!
If we got a lump sum, mine would go to my debt. But that's what I said last time, and I used it for a mini vacation instead, just a weekend at a state park with a friend. I'm hoping to be smarter next time I get a windfall.
Ahhh...
At $10/week, it will go to my everyday expenses. Hopefully, I'll be able to turn it into snowflakes and not just squander it.
Still need windows, though.

Bahaha the Stimulus Package. What a gimmick.
It's designed to get people to focus on what they would spend it on instead of the much bigger picture: reviving the economy to prevent job loss, foreclosures, bankruptcy. etc.
Name one stimulus package that actually revived the economy.
*crickets chirping*
See?
We got one last spring, and it did absolutely nothing for our economy.
The stimulus package focuses on fixing a symptom of a much bigger problem.
Well, regarding the stimulus.
Accepting a stimulus check is like giving a drink to an alcoholic, i.e., the government.
Thing is, we live in the same "house" as that alcoholic, so their poor choices, i.e., the stimulus check, ends up affecting all of us in the long-run, i.e., no improvement in the economy and continued debt.
I would refuse the check if it meant I was not enabling government gimmicks.
It can also be compared to the government throwing cake (the stimulus check) to starving citizens instead of substantial food.
A starving person will not question food lacking substance. They are too hungry. The food could have come from a rancid garbage can, but it doesn't matter to a starving person.
That's exactly what I see happening here.
