Reading through some posts seems that now that the holidays are over and well...bill paying time is here, lots of stress!

What do you do to relax even if it's only for a few minutes to escape reality!!!

Going out on the boat is a MAJOR source of stress relief (even after we spend $20 for gas, food, and drinks for the day) but it's not exactly boating weather around here in January. When the weather isn't warm and DH isn't sneaking off from work, I settle for a romance novel and call it "research". (I'm a writer, and DH can sneak off from work -- as long as he has his cell phone -- all he wants b/c he's the boss, LOL).

Scrapbook my kids pictures. I have a great area set up in the basement and even going down there for an hour to get a few pages done for their books gives me a good sense of relaxation and relief.

My job is really stressful and I thought about stress relief tactics over the Christmas holidays. One thing I love to do and haven't done for a long time is bake bread from scratch. I love it and find it very meditative and relaxing. I can also make really good bread for about a 1/4 of the cost of store bought, and I share it with a friend who is struggling financially and who doesn't have time to bake.

Exercise is also crucial.

CHOCOLATE!!! Of course, this is likely why I've added a weight loss ticker to my signature *sigh*. Oh well. I also like to read. I am having a heck of a time at work (stupid stressors) so I've been stressing a lot. Add the financial stress and I am feeling it!!! I just bought a treadmill so I am hoping I can become one of those annoying people who likes to workout to combat stress!!!

Taking a long hot shower with the lights off but our window lets in enough outside light to come through so I'm not in total darkness.

Taking it day by day...

Contrary to my not sleeping habit, if I can get a nap that helps. I have had a hell of day!! But you ladies have inspired me. I think I will go home have a long hot shower with the lights off, turn it into a bath, & have a glass of wine and chocolate near by! Then........maybe a nap LOL

Scrapbooking is my stress relief. Lately I have been making cards instead of actually scrapbooking. I love all the paper, pens, stamps, etc.

sign me up for the hot-bath-as-relaxation party, as well!

In warmer weather I often dig out my walkman, turn the music up loud and go for a walk...but in the winter thats NOT relaxing!
