Okay, I am freaking. I apologize in advance if this gets long!

Two days ago I was on top of the world! I sold a whole bunch of clothes (although the lady who "bought" them hasn't contacted me for a pick up time so it may have fallen through!!!), I had the new treadmill and bf and I were discussing which home project we would work on first once the CC's were paid off.

Yesterday BF came home panicked because he got suspended from work without pay.

Thanks ladies! I appreciate your calming words! Its amazing what "sleeping it off" can do for you! I feel better about things today and all we can do is focus on paying off debt and getting new jobs (neither of us are particularly happy where we are, BF more so then me, lol)

So a new day, and new way to figure this out!

We went through the same exact thing about a year ago. My husband is a truck driver and he worked for a beer company and was part of a union. He worked with a helper and the helpers girlfriend needed a ride somewhere because something happened to her car, so he picked her up and dropped her off about 5 minutes away from where he picked her up. Unfortunately though, during the ride he was pulled over by a police officer. The officer called the company and let them know that he had an unauthorized passenger and he was suspended indefinitely the next day. They were really mad! And it's obvious that picking up a passenger in a company truck is a horrible thing to do, but the thing is...he was a new truck driver, there were no rules or paperwork saying you couldn't have passengers and it was something that all the truck drivers did. They would pick up their kids from school or daycare every once in awhile. But of course my husband is the one to get caught and punished for something that all the truck drivers had done for years. He ended up being suspended with no pay for a week but the union was able to keep his job. So I know how nerve wracking this is. I hope things work out!

Thanks for sharing your story Abbie! It make me feel better. I think we'll be okay. I can't them firing almost 25% of the staff (and I don't see how they could anyways). The other good thing is that this is a three paycheck month for him, so the suspension will just mean the "extra" pay is short.

Good luck in the days coming ahead. Uncertainty is really hard for me so it must be for everyone. It sounds like you have plans A, B, and C in waiting depending upon the possible outcomes. You will be fine.

I'm so sorry that you are going through this. I admire your positive thinking. I hope you get some answers tomorrow. Make sure that if your boyfriend is not happy with what the union is saying that he keeps seeking answers and protection. He should comb his collective agreement with a fine tooth comb regarding disciplinary issues. Good luck and let us know what happens.
