I got my AT&T bill in the mail today - and every month it makes me mad to see that I am paying them for a land line and then they have so many extra charges.

I took off line insurance on my phone and lowered it by 11.95 a month To me that was silly but you can't duck the federal and state taxes on any phones no matter where you get one.

And I keep the land line because in a storm a bad one Cells go down land lines don't many times. In North Carolina Cells were down all over the place after the huricanes but land lines were not and my husband has a bad heart.

Yeah - DirecTV simply shuts down your service and makes you call them to reactivate it.

All my best,

If you get rid of your landline, figure out how much you would be saving. Would that amount still be more than what you might pay in occasional overage fees on your cel phone? Not sure how much your landline is, but my basic landline charge is $30, I use my landline more than my celphone so it wouldn't pay me to get rid of my landline, but if you hardly use your landline it may save you more money overall.

Some application forms have a spot to opt out of any sales type calls. (I filled out a form the other day and it had a spot to put down how you wanted to be contacted, mail, phone, or email) Also if you have call display on your cel phone just ignore the ones you know are sales calls.

Anyway just a thought.
