Now that the holiday months are over and their affect on Dh's paycheck and his work hours are back to normal, I'm feeling a little more positive!

More good news this week is I changed our cable/internet service and cut our home phone and will save $75/month by doing so.

Tattered -

Those sound like really good steps, and you are off and running this year. My husband and son hunt as well and we not only have venison, but turkey, squirrel, and Pheasant. Our issue is that his hunting habit probably costs more than the equivalent in prime beef - but it makes him happy.

We have lots of great recipes and we never tell my daughter what she is eating, she never guesses either, so I think we have done pretty well on that front.

They are doing a thinning here, and all the meat will be processed for food banks.

BTW, have you read or do you follow Dave Ramsey? If not, you might look into getting some of his stuff as I was budgeting and saving and trying to do it on my own for years, but this program has really given me more discpline.

We too cut our utility bills, and are lucky to have great health care insurance so we never have bills there. We just have massive CC debt.

With my Dh, it's his fishing passion that usually cost a lot.
