Long story short bad economy = no sales = 1st ever missed mortgage payment.

Check with your bank, I know I have the option of missing one mortgage payment per year, as long as all my other payments have been on time. I have done it once, it doesn't affect your credit rating, but it does add it to the end of your mortgage.

They may be able to set it up retroactive.

I would definitely call the bank and explain the situation. If you can send them anything at all, do it. My neighbor is in foreclosure, and they were about 6 months behind before the bank filed the notice of default.

I would definately call your mortgage holder! Don't go without corresponding with them. They often have programs where they are able to help you if you fall behind. It is worth a try, don't ignore them.
