February financial goals: Add yours!

I find it's so easy to stay focused in January, but what about a monthly reassessment of where you are and where you're heading?

My goals for February:

-$1000 to my debt, putting us at $8500 due.
-Add $100 to my efund, which is double what I've been doing.

The only way I can achieve this is through some hard work, budgeting, and selling some stuff on eBay or Amazon. I think "putting it all out there" for everyone to see will help.

Hi everyone,
I am excited to have found this group. I recently ended a relationship of 14 years (my entire adult life) and I find myself deep in debt (school loans and credit cards). I feel very alone in my situation. I'm not hopeful that I will ever be able to pay off my debt, and was wondering if you all have any advice about how to keep my spirits high.
I created a couple of tickers to give me a visual representation of my progress. Any other suggestions?

My goals for February:

Place 1/2 of tax refund into savings account to be used for emergencies only, the other half for things Dh has been patiently waiting until we could pay for them without cutting into our budget.

February:

1. pay cash for ski trip (already have saved up so no problem) Snowshoe WVa here we come!

2. pay off Kohl's card 700.00 ( with husbands new job should be able to )

3. Put anything husband makes after saving for March bills into savings (approx 3000.00 I hope)

I would like to pay off more debt but I'm afraid to. I think we need to put it in savings b/c husbands wok is so unpredictable.

4. Do taxes and I'm hoping to breakeven- if I do that means the 3000.00 I have saved for taxes can just stay in my account. Keeping fingers crossed!

Welcome to the board.

I am also recently divorced(12 year go at it). Almost 2 years now. I am also deeply in debt. Some of it is for a business I still own. I visit here often to keep my spirits up. There are a lot of great ladies here with great tips. It DOES get better. Chin up!

Goals for Feb:

--Talk to BF again about the budget I have set up. Point things out, try to talk some sense into him. There are some concepts he is oblivious to. He is so cute though LOL!

--Not back slide on debt. I hope I don't need personal credit to help my business. If I can make it through Feb, I should be home free. WE will see.

--Snow flake a bit towards debt as the efund is built up to 1000.

--File taxes, hope i don't owe anything and get a big enough refund to pay the stupid accountant.

--Keep up with spending tracking(this will help explain things to BF)

--Relax--I"m too stressed.

Good luck ladies!

1. stick to my budget (by staying out of Wal-Mart and grocery shopping every other week)
2. get my income taxes done (I'm going to owe for 2008)
3. re-fund my E-Fund to $1,000

1. Get going on first debt management payment
2. Stick to really tight budget, as always
3. Get caught up on student loans
4. File Taxes
5. Start Savings account
6. Reorganize household files
7. Get my dental work payment figured out, just found out I am near my max because I have a fractured tooth which has been temporarily crowned and may need a root canal :(
8. Get everyone in family appts at dentist in case dh gets laid off, lay offs have been happening at his job but so far he was spared
9.Get glasses which I lost, while I still have coverage, in case dh gets laid off

Anyway, feeling hopeful about the future now that we are in a program with a 4.5 year time line :)
