Parking TICKETS!!!!

All this time, DH has been thinking that he's been doing the right thing. We have this Odd/Even parking system in our city. On even days you park on even side, odd days you park on the odd side. Maybe this is because of street cleaning. Who knows! But we've been diligently parking on the right side of the street to try to avoid tickets. And still, we've been getting tickets! Yesterday I get a paper saying I have an overdue ticket. I am very good about paying tickets before the late fee. I hate late fees! This is a ticket I never received so I called the city today and it turns out that they give tickets from 1am to 6am. SO we've actually been parking on the wrong side of the street every night! AHHH! Example: Let's say it's 2/5 and you think it's an odd day so you park on the odd side of the street. NOOOOO...actually they give tickets starting at 1AM so you should actually be parking on the EVEN side! WTH! The guy on the phone said that this is the way they have been doing it for 20 years. Kind of counterintuitive in my opinion! So needless to say, not only do we have to pay the ticket that I never received although they waived the late fee, but we got another ticket last night! WOo HOO! So now I owe the city 50 dollars. We are going to be going today to get a parking pass for our condo parking lot. I have been avoiding doing this just because it's a hassle, but now the stupid city parking rules are more of a hassle!

Ugh - they do do that because of street sweeping. Our old town used to do that. I hated it. Thankfully though my DH (fiance at the time we lived there) was a cop so they always waived his / our tickets.
This stinks - chaulk it up to lesson learned and perhaps if you like any of your neighbors - alert them of the new information.
I hate parking tickets! My biggest pet peeve is snow removal nights! If more then 7cm (just under 3 inches I think?) of snow is forecast in a night then we can't park on the street, which make sense. The only issues I have is when it DOESN'T snow at all and we get ticketed, or, after working magic to get three cars into a two car driveway (usually involves leaving the garage door open and putting the second car half in and half out, lol) they don't plow our street! In the two years I've been living here, our street is NEVER plowed the first night. We get it the second night if we are lucky. But somehow the
