Happy Friday! What expenses / plans does everyone forsee happening this weekend?

We are having a b-day party for my dd who is going to be TWO! Yippie. We are having a low key party with a few guests - close family and my dd's Godparents. We are just having chips and ice cream cake and cupcakes. I have to buy the ice cream cake tomorrow - that'll be about $22. Oh, and I'm making punch but I already bought the ingredients for that.

Sunday we are having my DD's pictures taken at Sears. It usually will cost us about $100. I want to toss my son who is 5 in the pics for one of them together. My mom is going to give my DD money for her b-day and I was going to use that money for her pics.

We might wander the mall after we do my dd's pics and so we might end up having lunch there. It's not planned but I forsee it happening. I work my second job Sun night so otherwise - that's it for us this weekend.

Hmmm, never thought of it as "how expensive will the weekend be" because all the expenses are in the budget lines. . . but I'll give it a try.

Do I include the beer and wine DH bought today for the weekend? :)

Lunch at the Cub Scout "Pinewood Derby" - less than $10
Cello lesson - $45
Haircut for DD - $25
Movie rental for kids - $5
Drinks w/ DH - $25
Church collection basket - $70

I think that's it - Sunday is a stay at home day.

The only expected expense for this weekend is the admission to the annual home show that we will be going to tonight. It's $3 a person and we like to go to see what new and wonderful things we need to fix up our house. We have been living in a state of perpetual renovation for the last 8 years. I want to check out on demand hot water heaters for our next big purchase.

Other than that our expenses for the weekend will include $8 for breakfast on Sunday morning, we always go out to the legion for breakfast on sunday with the in laws.

Since our experiment to see if we can get a dog failed (Our son is allergic, so we put a shirt he sleeps with in the dog's cage at the no-kill animal shelter, then had him sleep in it. We woke up yesterday morning fine but wheezy this morning, so no dog. We kept the experiement a secret from the kids, so they won't be disappointed.), DH will go to the other animal shelter and resuce a baby kitty for the kids. Our cat died in April and both kids have been ready for another pet.

I need to buy groceries tomorrow. DH covers a game tomorrow night and I'm on the road Sunday for a story, so we'll both need to fill our cars up with gas, but that's it. A low-key weekend.

I have been telling DH I don't want to go out to a Valentine's Day dinner next weekend because of how busy its going to be, maybe I can float the idea to him to go out this weekend instead.

Let's see, we don't have an definite plans this weekend, so I don't really know, but here are ones I do expect:

Grocery store: $50 (hopefully I can stay under that.

I use to love to go to the home shows, but they have raised the prices so high($10 - 12 per adult) that I quit going.

Last year I had to go to an allergist.

A friend of mine got a miniature Schnauzer that she said doesn't shed (the breed in general, I think) so it doesn't cause allergies. The dog is very brilliant and very, very good with her small children. I generally don't much like dogs at all but I totally love this one.
