Hooray!

I met my budget this week, managed to put $45 aside in savings and even $25 to "splurge" money.

Good for you! It's an amazing feeling to put some money aside for both savings and 'splurge'. My budget I made a little too tight at first and now I'm introducing a 'splurge' amount each week. I think it'll make a difference in my enjoyment of life on a budget.

Keep up the good work!

Excellent, Jax!!!
I feels so good to know you have that cushion and you don't have to carry a credit card for ANYTING! You never really need to now that you have that emergency money filled.

I am a firm beleiver in a splurge or blow fund. You never know what will come out of left field, but having that money in CASH takes a lot more thought to spend.

For anyone who has not given up credit cards and gone to cash with an emergency fund, I just can't tell you how freeing it really is. You don't need the cc cruch!

Yahoo to you again, Jax!!

I've always tried to have a "splurge" and savings account -- it's just the unexpected cut in my hours/pay due to unwanted change in employment several months ago this really has not been possible since then until now.

Dh and had cut things a little too close to the bone on our set expenses.

Great job Jax!

I too need money to do whatever I want with, or I would go crazy! I give myself $100 a week (cash) for food and fun. Once its gone its gone. If I don't spend all of it, the remainder goes to my splurge jar. This is where I accumulate money for bigger things like new running shoes, new clothes, etc.
