Personally, I am not as much of a fan after her first couple of books. One of my coworkers is reading the Young, Fabulous and Broke and we are appalled at some of the advice she gives. (use credit cards to make up the short fall of income from a career you love-YIKES)

I like Suze She pretty much believes what I have found to be true and believe about money.

Hi, mckeekitty.

I didn't want to offer my opinion in the original post so I'll chime in now.

I lost respect for Suze when she was giving advice (I don't remember if it was on Oprah or what) and told a woman who wanted to stay at home with her kids that she couldn't afford to, because with only her husband's income, they would *only* have $800 a month leftover.

I think Suze is OK. Her personality irritates me, but I think she has some good advice. I love reading/listening about personal finance so I've heard a lot of different POVs. I listen to the advice and do what works for me.

Wow, interesting stuff. I guess the lesson here is to not believe everything one person says. I can't believe she'd recommend leasing a car. I just read that (her advice) if you can't pay for a car in 3 years, you can't afford it.

David Bach is still my fave, by far; but, I don't have a TV hook-up so I'm spared a lot.
