A Web site featuring Nadya Suleman's new octuplets is collecting donations for the 33-year-old mother and her 14 children. The single and unemployed mom's situation has sparked widespread controversy.
Never in a million years! I feel awful for those children of hers because there is no way that a single parent can provide the love, support, psychological/physiological needs that those children need. I'm sorry to say, the tax payers of California where she lives will have to pick up the bill like they prob have started to already seeing the cost of having those kids is in the millions. She is selfish, psychologically something is wrong with her! I'm sorry I went on a rant, but those are my thoughts.
I have a different take on this. Although I think she has issues and is not capable of caring properly for her 14 children, I still think that it is in the childrens' best interest that they get the money they need to be taken care of. Is it their fault that their mother is a lunatic? Are we going to begrudge her innocent children the money and opportunity they desperately need because we are all outraged by the mother? I don't think it's fair that other multiples have had an outpouring of love and support and yet these octuplets are surrounded by controversy and bitterness. What a way to start life? How do we separate the mothers' action from the miracle of 8 newborn babies that deserve love and happiness? I'm afraid that will just create 14 adults who need the support of the state 20 years in the future.
Let me also add, that these were eggs that had already been fertilized and she was asked what she wanted to do with them? Throw them away? Or give them a chance at life? The doctor implanted 6 embryos and 2 divided. No one in their right mind would imagine 8 babies coming out of that scenario. She thought she was just going to be having her 7th child, not her 14th. Yes - she is crazy!!! But I would not have been able to just forget about those 6 embryos waiting in the cryogenic freezer either! Do her actions really deserve death threats? Now she's in hiding, fearing for her life! What do her babies have to look forward to in a country that has no sympathy for them?

I guess if you look at it that way Carolyn, I'm supporting her too since I'm in CA........lol.
The only dollar I will contribute will be towards removing that woman's uterus.
Of course, I do worry about those 14 children.
Carolyn,
You are so right!
