snowflaking question?

I'm getting ready to set up online bill pay through my bank. We don't have any credit card debt, so I'd like to target my truck payment with my first snowflaking efforts. I would like to send a few dollars here and there throughout the month as it becomes available. My question is...how do I insure that they credit it towards the principal and not just the next payment? When I send it by mail...I have to write a separate check and put FOR PRINCIPLE in the note section. Before I started doing that...they just credited it towards next months payment.

Thanks for your help...samey

I have bill pay on my checking account. When I send out a check there is usually a small box next to the amount where they give me my conformation number that says MEMO I would type in "this check is to be applied to the principal only" in that little box. That should work.

Of course I don't know if your bill pay has a memo box next to your truck payment but I would check it out with say 5.00 and give it a run.
