I am just full of questions and topics today...I have a Rebate Card that came from Verizon...it was for $50.00 (I liked it better when they sent you paper checks) the card has been used and there is under $1.00 left on it.

Can you use it anywhere?

It is a Visa Rebate Card - actually it was my daughters - and she used it at Olive Garden & Wal-mart...so if I go to Wal-mart and purchase something - I could ask the cashier to ring up the remainder on the card and then pay her the difference of whatever I purchase?

That should work - as long as you know the exact balance on the card - I think mine was like $0.87 - and I had them charge that amount to the card, and the balance in cash.

midnightd72 is exactly right - as long as you can tell them the exact amount on the card, they should be able to use it up for you.

I got two rebate cards from T-Mobile and the same thing happened. I used it once at Meijer and then I could only ever use it at the gas station. I had like $4 left and I had more trouble using that $4 than ever before.

I am due for another rebate through T-Mobile and this time I plan on using the whole $50 amount at ONE store and at ONE time. That way there is no problems. I will just use it for groceries but it is a good lesson learned for the future. These cards are tricky. I too am annoyed they don't give you cash checks anymore. This is their way of scamming hoping people don't cash in the whole dollar amount of the rebate.

I agree with you on that......they are WANTING people not to use every little bit of it - that way they are getting to keep the money.

Update to this....last night I received and e-mail from Verizon Rebate (this is about the 3rd one) this time they said that they regretted to inform me that most merchants would "not" accept an amount under $1.00...it made me so mad - I sent them an e-mail and asked them if I mailed the card back to them would they take it and credit my Verizon account - I also told them that they were making money on people if every single card had "a little bit left on it".
