Another towed car...*sob*

I am again...so UPSET! It snowed last night. It started snowing at 6 o'clock last night and snowed into the morning. Our condo policy here is that the snow is plowed the day after a snowstorm. In my opinion, today is not the day after and if that is the condo's decision, then they should at least realize the confusion of it and let people know they are towing. I saw 5 cars being towed this morning, one of them being mine, and I'm sure there were others as well. So there goes another 70 dollars and I don't have 70 dollars. I guess I have enough to cover it in my savings, but what a rediculous expense. I even cried to the tow truck guy as we were right there and he wouldn't let us take our car.
I guess there is really nothing I can do...maybe I could get a bunch of people together to sue the condo association for lack of following policy. But since I don't have the money to get my car out, I doubt I'd have the money to sue anyone. All I know is that many people are mad in this community about the liberal towing policies. I just don't think it's necessary to make everyone in your building mad enough to spit nails! I was crying, 2 other ladies were crying. One guy was on the phone and another lady who doesn't live here asked me why I continued to live here when they treated us like this. Well, because I have no choice. I have to live here because even if I sold my place and broke even, my credit is so horrible I couldn't buy anything else and I may not even be able to rent anything for the same price.
So mad, so mad, so mad...

I am so sorry! Hugs to you! Try to remember that the tow truck driver was doing HIS job and maybe once he has the car into the system he can't release it to the owner. (I have no idea if that's true or not - just trying to shift your anger away from the tow truck guy.)
Where is your car parked that the association is towing it? Is it on the street? If its on the street that would be CITY property. I don't see how they can tow you unless its the city.
Trying to understand to help you prevent this in the future!
That is horrible. I have never heard of such a thing....but I live in Texas and we don't have a winter....
My car was parked in my own parking lot. The snow removal policy is that the plow truck will come at 9 0'clock the morning after a storm. I woke up this morning to snow so I wasn't thinking that today was the day after a storm. And I'm not really that mad at the tow truck guy because I know that the policy is that once the process of towing is started, he can't stop. I'm mad at the president of our association. He just seems so cold and I know that he's the one who called in the tow trucks this morning. Couldn't he have even thought just once that maybe people wouldn't realize that today would be considered the day after? It's almost like he enjoys towing cars. He likes the fact that he can get us all to pay attention. Well, of course he's never gotten his car towed because he's the one who calls. He lives alone with his dog. Some of us have kids and responsibilities and aren't thinking at 9 in the morning that I'd better move my car because 3 inches fell on the ground this morning.
I wrote the association an email telling them that it isn't good policy to make people so mad that they are questioning living here. I also said that they need to follow the policy exactly the way they wrote it or they shouldn't be able to tow. Both times my car was towed, they didn't follow the policy exactly.
I feel your pain. We *almost* got towed the other day, but luckily I went outside in time.

I would see what you can do to bring it up at the next association meeting, and if need be, ask the association's attorney for a clarification.
I agree with the idea of checking and seeing if you can find an attorney to take the case pro bono and getting a petition of the tenants signed on this to take to court.
So it's your association's policy that by 9am every resident should be out driving around ( in hazardous post-snow conditions.) ?
I've lived in numerous states that do get winters (NY, Mass, Missouri & Nebraska) and I ran this past my best friend who has lived in both city & towns of western mass, AND in boston suburbs and IN Boston (Bunker Hill) and now in Maine....
Between the 2 of us and our NUMEROUS residences...we have NEVER heard of a policy of towing RESIDENTS in order to plow.
We have been plowed IN.
