Another towed car...*sob*

I am again...so UPSET! It snowed last night. It started snowing at 6 o'clock last night and snowed into the morning. Our condo policy here is that the snow is plowed the day after a snowstorm. In my opinion, today is not the day after and if that is the condo's decision, then they should at least realize the confusion of it and let people know they are towing. I saw 5 cars being towed this morning, one of them being mine, and I'm sure there were others as well. So there goes another 70 dollars and I don't have 70 dollars. I guess I have enough to cover it in my savings, but what a rediculous expense. I even cried to the tow truck guy as we were right there and he wouldn't let us take our car.

I guess there is really nothing I can do...maybe I could get a bunch of people together to sue the condo association for lack of following policy. But since I don't have the money to get my car out, I doubt I'd have the money to sue anyone. All I know is that many people are mad in this community about the liberal towing policies. I just don't think it's necessary to make everyone in your building mad enough to spit nails! I was crying, 2 other ladies were crying. One guy was on the phone and another lady who doesn't live here asked me why I continued to live here when they treated us like this. Well, because I have no choice. I have to live here because even if I sold my place and broke even, my credit is so horrible I couldn't buy anything else and I may not even be able to rent anything for the same price.

So mad, so mad, so mad...

Hmmmm...that's very interesting. I just accepted the towing policy as normal. I think the reason they are so anal about towing is because there are not enough spaces for the residents and people are constantly complaining about parking. They won't plow anybody in because then we'd lose a parking space when all the snow turned to ice. That's one of the reasons why they are so strict with plowing, but there has got to be a better way here that doesn't alienate and anger people. Usually they just sweep around the parking lot with the plow during the snowstorm and then they will do a thorough job the next day and everyone needs to be out by 9am. If they complete this as the snow removal policy says, then it's not a problem. We all know what to expect and if we get towed, then it truly is our own fault. But this unexpected towing is just unacceptable! When we went to get our car from the compound, even the towing guy said that our condo association is notorious for not following the 24 hour rule. That they will call them in anytime to tow, like they did this morning. And this president has a thing for the parking lot. It's like his personal obsession. We also get towed for not having the right sticker or guest passes (that's right...we need guest passes for people when they come over). I've even heard that he personally prowls the parking lot to make sure people have stickers.

I was so upset this morning that I started getting a visual migraine...I later found out that my mom gets these but this was my first experience with it. It scared me so bad that I was getting ready to go to the hospital thinking I was having a stroke. I have a family history of stroke and I also have a history of atrial fibrillation (sp?) which can cause strokes. My dad had a stroke at 47. I'm 30 and overweight and stressed! The vision changes went away after 10 minutes and so I decided to wait and see if they came back. So much stress! I thought I was having a nervous breakdown!

I am going to talk to my neighbors and see if we can come up with something to do about this towing policy. One of the main things for me is resale. What if word gets out that this condo association is psycho and nobody wants to buy these places? I could nominate myself for the board...that sounds like a big pain in the ass but somebody needs to stand up for the little people.
