We went to Walmart today to stock up on a few grocery items and saw coats on clearance. They're nice coats. DH grew up on them and we've been getting them for our kids for a few years (DH was surprised Walmart carried them). Anyway, they were on clearance for $10 from $30. We debated it a little bit and then picked up two of them in next year's sizes. When we paid for them, they rang up as 22 and 28 CENTS. I looked at the cashier and she looked at me and she asked if there were any more and I said a couple and she asked me where they were. I asked her what size she needed for her kid. After we finished paying for everything DH gave me the change out of his pocket and waited up front and I went back there and found three more. I scanned them at a price check and they were 22, 22, and 28 cents. (All sizes we could actually use, mind you). I went to a different cashier (shorter line) and asked her to ring up one of the smaller ones separately so I'd have two receipts. (Had the same convo w/ her -- "are there any more back there?" LOL). I went back to the first cashier and held up the smaller one and asked if it would fit her son and she said yes, so I gave it to her along with the receipt. She was so emotional and surprised that she almost had ME in tears, LOL.
So, long story short, I ended up with four very nice $30 coats for less than $1.50. I gave back that $10 yesterday and walked away with $120 today! I wish every investment had a return like that!
