Never put off going to the dentist. I did will soon be shelling out a lot of money to mine, despite insurance, to fix all of my dental problems. I don't have the best teeth in the world, thanks to the diet pills I popped when I was anorexic. When something little happens, like a tooth chips, I tend to let it go if it doesn't bother me. Well, a little chip grew into a big crack and then the tooth was gone. It would have been much cheaper to fix the chip than what my dentist will have to do this afternoon.
There's a lot of work I've been putting off, partly because of fear, but

Yes do it
My birth mother didn't want me so she never took the pills she needed to take while she was preg and she didn't eat like she should have. She wanted me to be little so she would not show and be able to work. So I was born with bad teeth baby teeth all were filled from time to time and the grown up teeth were always weak.
I was told at 35 that I would lose all my teeth by 40 because they were all weak. I will be 62 in August.
I fought the good fight and still have 6 at the bottom holding on bridges which I am guessing will give away in around 2 years or less because they are old.
Better things are coming out every day when it comes to teeth. A year and a half ago they didn't even do mini implants around here like they do today. I went to the same dentist I am going to Monday and he wanted 10,000 for the same thing he is doing Monday for 5400.00 but in the mean time I through away 5200 on the bridge. So who is to know right.
It is not what happen
Sorry to hear of your bad news.

I agree with you 100%!! I just took myself and my two boys to the dentist. I put it off a year. I hate taking time off work for it and yanking the kids out of school. I am so lucky I did not have anything wrong. The boys however had cavities. I am trying to use this information to get them to remember to brush their teeth! They are not going to enjoy their next appointment with the fillings. ugh!

Mary Ann, your mother didn't want you?
Kate
I had a dental hygenist give me a lecture about how long it had been since I had had my teeth cleaned. I told her I couldn't afford to come in and she lectured me on setting priorities and specifically choosing between a new dress or shoes and getting my teeth cleaned. I was so humiliated I wanted to cry. This was at the start of the visit and I was so humiliated I didn't have the strength to get up and leave, which I regret to this day, which is many years later. The women at the front desk were sympathetic and told me even they had complained to management about this hygenist's manner (because other patients have complained)but that they weren't listened to.
I went back and spoke to the office manager (who I am sure did nothing) and then never went back. To this day I take proper care of my teeth and go at least once a year for a cleaning, but I won't let myself be lectured again.
I commend you for your resolve to take care of your teeth.
