Dh just got paid and with our expenses for the next two weeks, it's right down to the very penny of his pay -- and though bills are paid we have Nothing left over..... again *sigh*.

Yes there is a light just take a while to get to it.

People and businesses have to reinvent themselves all the time to make it in this world. It is ashame that your boss can not see that. Because he needs to wake up or he will be out of work also.

Good Luck

So there with you right now. Last weeks entire check was taken up by our car and I still think there's a problem with the car. The engine light went back on, so it looks like the catalytic converter will have to be replaced, I'm just hoping we can wait on that. This week I paid the remaining bills that I wasn't able to pay last week and after gas and groceries, I'm pretty much down to $20 dollars. I'm really thinking of getting rid of our YMCA membership. I've been trying to hold onto it because it's nice to be able to get to a pool in the winter, but it's almost spring now and I know we're not going to use it once we can get outside so maybe in the future, we'll only have a membership in the winter. The only problem is they always charge a fee to sign up but lately they have been waiving that fee.

Anyway - it's so hard to have your budget down to the penny with no room for fun! And it's really hard to see a light at the end of a tunnel that seems to be 10 miles long and underneath a mountain range!

Yes, he's recently discussed the difference in his business and my prior employers and told me he didn't want the locals coming in and sitting for 2 hours or more every afternoon and drinking 2 pots of coffee..... What he doesn't realize is these people may come in and sit for 2 hours but they order snacks, and then come back for dinner or breakfast and they refer everyone who asks where to go to that place.

Hey Abbie,

just wanted to chime in about your car troubles. I had the same problem with my toyota camry. The check engine light came on, and on, and on. usually it is related to an emissions problem, like the cat. converter. the only time you would HAVE to fix this is to pass state inspection. while protecting the environment from our car emissions is important too, it is VERY expensive. I don't know if this helps, or gets you any extra time to save up the money....just thought i'd let you know.

That's what I was hoping. I have until next November before it needs to be inspected again. I found the part online for around $250 dollars. I was thinking I could order it and have my mechanic put it in. I'd have to check if it's actually a legitimate part for my toyota. But my mechanic was going to charge me around $400. Maybe he'll work with me! If not, I was thinking of having my FIL put the part in. He's always working on cars.
