March financial goals

I don't think we did this yet for March, did we?

My goal for March would be to pay off the largest APR card that I have, a Citi card at 10.49%, but that isn't going to happen. I still owe $815. That, along with my other cards, and DD's birthday fast approaching, is too much.

My goal is to get below $8000. I'm at $8550 and haven't used a CC in months (that has made all the difference....) so I feel really good about the prospects of achieving that goal. $7500 would be great, but we'll see about that.

So what is your goal for March? Can we continue to blizzard away with spring on the horizon?

I left my budget spreadsheet at work on Thursday, so i am going off of memory, but for this month:

* we just got 2 checks this week for DH's GI benefits, I have already cashed on and sent the payment to the credit card to cover the tuition and books he charged on his cc, so I will send the one we got today to the bank and turn around and write a check to the cc. that's $900 snowflaked to that cc alone, so that makes me happy.

* ODD's birthday is this month and my parents will be in town for a week, so my goal really is just not to go overboard on it all. DH and I still need to sit down and decide on a budget for her birthday.

* My other goal is to work just a bit harder reducing the grocery bill. Its not bad, I still to around $500-600 a month, including diapers, toiletries, and cleaning supplies for the 4 of us, but I really think I can reduce it down a bit more.

That's about all you can hope for! =c) And I hope so much for you that you guys can follow your dreams and make them profitable. That's how my writing started -- it was something that I loved that I just hadn't done in years. And now, less than a year later, I'm making more by working a couple of hours a day than my mom does at her "real" job. (Too bad I can't out-earn DH's current income!) I've never had a "real job" in my life, though, so I didn't have to give up income to pursue writing and that was a huge blessing for us!

Cash is wonderful. =c) Keep up the great work! I'll race ya! *wink* (I suspect we'll both be winners!)

Hi Dee and everyone. My goals for March are as simple as it comes.

To pay my bills on time and do my best to not incur any new debt! Our budget is so incredibly tight right now it's rather silly. But I have to believe I can do this!

Hmmmmm good one Dee. I need to focus more. Writing it down helps.

**I would like to snow flake $200 more dollars.

**Need to start saving for an overnight trip in April.

**I'm hoping my store credit line does not go over so I have to use my emergency fund. I want sales to pick up instead which might happen.

**keep putting money towards our car fund. I can't wait to see what my bf's tax return is. I hope i am not disappointed.(I just put 75% of my tax return into the fund and we are doing sooo well. We will see.

**I want to take my kids to the city in May for an overnight in a hotel for them to swim with their cousins and buy dinner and drinks etc with my sister so I guess I should save for that.

Yes, it helps to write it down!

I had that same fear about loosing my card a few months ago, I had given it to my DD to fill up her car.

Now I give her cash!
