Luckily, it isn't horrible, but I'll have to raid the Efund. We have a no interest, no payment card that we used to get new brakes on our cars in December. It's due this month. I just realized that we were careless and didn't leave enough money in the savings to pay it off. We have most of the money and I'll have to raid the Efund, but it should be OK. DH goes back on nights next week. I hate it when he's on nights, but he gets paid more, so it almost makes it worth it. It should definitely help us with the snowflakes.

I know how you feel I raid our Efund all the time. That is why I started an extra car fund just for what you are going through right now. I took the percentage that was suppose to be for transportation out of this book and I went by that 15% of the monthly income. I tell you it really helps You don't find yourself so scared if the car needs something so much because at least part of the money is there. That is even better then having an Efund or snowflaking to have that monkey off your back.

I also know how you feel about that night work Raymond took night work for years because it paid 50 cents on the hour more. And I hated it too. Be careful through the years that you don't loose a lot of your friends. No matter what they say it is still a couple's world out there. I woke up about 20 years to late and realized that fact. For so many years we had been out of the loop because he worked the night shift when it stopped all our friends had moved on to other couples. Once that happens you can't go back.

He actually works rotating shifts. Each rotation is 10 weeks, so it's only temporary. He gets a shift differential of 5% when he's on days and 12% when he's on nights. There's a good chance he'll be getting a promotion soon, so I'm hoping that if he gets it he'll go back to days for a while. He says they're supposed to make a decision by the end of the month. He'll still be on shiftwork if he gets the promotion, but he might end up on a different crew.
